Needless to say, I got side tracked away from my intention to work on the Napoleonic stuff, this time though for a very practical reason. If I can get some of the Saga Ancients stuff done by mid March, it can cadge a lift to Norfolk and I won’t have to take it on the train!
So I’ve spent the last few days painting the mounted Hearthguard for the ‘Indian’ army……which isn’t Indian, but I explained that already.
These are they. So I’ve managed to finish two points of the six point army. Two chariots are under construction now.
I lighten up the piccies a bit. Makes all the difference.
There’s a long, long way still to go.

Them is most excellent. Apart from the funny shaped bases…
Ta.
Nout wrong with those bases, mate. Corners are so last century.

They look very splendid, will put my force to shame. You certainly show quality is better than quantity.
They don’t, Pemps, your Greeks are lovely, but thank you.
Painting, particularly at my great age, is more a question of putting the toys on the table. I’m crap at getting the balance right.

They are absolutely outstanding! Excellent painting.
Best rgds. Phil
Thank you Phil.
They were a proper pain in the neck to paint!
All the best
Iain
Those are really impressive and not just the brushwork – how did you come up with that very effective colour scheme, including all the decorative touches – they go together so well.
Hello Rob,
Thank you.
The red turbans and cloaks match that of the ‘Raja’ in his elephant. Their his Hearthguard, so that just followed. For the other colours, the only plan was ‘colourful, but not red’. So no real thought went into it at all. Some might say that’s the story of my life!
Iain
The painting on those is superlative Iain!
Neil
That’s very kind of you, Neil, thank you.
Iain
I’m with Neil; they are absolutely sensational Iain! Delightful viewing.
Regards, James
That’s also very kind of you then, James, thank you.
